In my opinion this is one of the Best Cash Back Credit Card for Fair Credit Score for all beginners. Let’s see why I think the discovery it card is a must-have for all beginners. When it comes to credit cards Discovery it card is the only credit card I found that gives a 5 percent cash back rate. It also does a dollar-dollar match for the first year making it like a 10% cash back.
Why Discover it card is great for the first year
Most banks will only give you one to two percent depending on what type of credit card you get. For example, Bank of America card gives me three percent on a specific category 2 percent on groceries and 1 percent on everything. Honestly it’s not a bad credit card. When I came across the discovery card, it changed the game. Great things about the discovery it card is when you sign up you get one whole year where they match everything a dollar for dollar.
It means if you make $1.00 in cash back by the end of the financial year they’re gonna match it. So you get another extra dollar with the 5%. It does take a little bit of work but to me it is totally worth it. 5% cash back rewards rotates every quarter like Amazon and Walmart, Grocery stores, Restaurants, Gas and PayPal.
You got to think about getting 1% on everything with this card. On top of that they match you dollar for dollar by the end of the year. So that means you’re getting 2% back on everything and 10% back on the categories listed which is a lot of money back. Discover it card also give an Intro offer at a zero percent APR for the first 14 months. No extra fees for the first fourteen months. However I strongly recommend you guys still pay off a credit card.
I wouldn’t encourage to purposely spend just because there’s certain rewards for it. It is really handy because most the categories are very useful. For example, category for the discovery card in October through December is amazon.com and Walmart com. They did that on purpose so that you guys will be encouraged to use their card for Christmas. It’s actually a great category as this can help people with year end shopping.
Discovery it card has a couple of drawbacks.
It does require a little bit of work as you’re gonna actually have to look at the app and be like okay for this month and the next month 5% is gonna be on restaurants or five percents gonna be on gas things. You have to consciously be aware that but in my opinion comparing this card to other cards.
It’s not accepted widely like a Visa or Mastercard. This can be easily managed with using a digital payment through a mobile wallet. It is recommended that you have a credit score from anywhere from 690 and higher in order to get approved for this card really fast.
Final Thoughts
There are a lot of good credit cards out there but if you are a beginner getting into the credit card world I highly recommend to go with the discovery it card. It’s really good card a little honorable mention here for everyone to get the best bang for their buck. Especially for the first year, it’s going to earn you a lot more cash back than most other cards.
